Perfect

Skied Mt Sherman beginning of June. Snow before the final summit push was a little too icy for just ski skins. The plum ski crampons worked perfectly. Crampon size: 110cm. Skis: 106

Great choice for my Salomon MTN Pure bindings

I made the mistake of waiting to buy the Salomon-specific crampons for my MTN Pure's until the middle of volcano season haha. They were sold out everywhere I looked. I read online that these Plum crampons worked well for these bindings, and it turned out my local Cripple Creek carries them in my size. The Cripple Creek employees I spoke with were helpful. I called first to confirm these would work for my specific setup, and after getting my ski width details, they recommended that I bring in a ski to confirm. Once I had the ski in-store, the employee confirmed the fit and showed me how to use them. I then took these up Mt. St. Helens this past weekend and they worked brilliantly. Easy to drop in, and once in, they just work. No trouble with them popping out or anything like that. I was especially glad I had them for a couple specific portions of the route. Bonus: the color of the size I needed looks good with my skis 😎 Thanks Cripple Creek!

Backland Tour/MTN Ski Crampons

Tested these crampons out last weekend on some firm/icy east coast conditions. They worked pretty well. I especially liked them for traversing where you would struggle to get good skin contact in firm conditions. These dug right in and gave me a lot more confidence. I can see them being really nice in areas where its not that steep, but icy enough that you would typically give up skinning and switch to crampons. They even still dug in decently with the heel risers engaged. The design seemed to help them want to dig in, even with no/minimal downward pressure from the boot.

The right crampons for MTN bindings

I thought about using my Dynafit crampons but they need the little plastic clip- which comes with the MTN bindings- but I figured I'd lose the clip on the first day of a multiday tour. Drop a few more bucks and get the Plum crampons and leave the clips behind.

These are amazing for Salomon MTN bindings

I had been looking around for good crampons for my wife's awesome new Salomon MTN bindings. I had tried the generic Dynafit crampons which work decently. But these are simply perfect. They are inserted from the top at 90 degrees which makes mounting and unmounting them super easy. They are also lightweight and relatively compact.
