Cripple Creek is now a 4 season outfitter specializing in uphill skiing/splitboarding in the winter, and trail running in the summer. We are hiring for all aspects of the business from online and social media marketing to retail sales and shop techs.

Ski Touring or Splitboarding Gear Expert - $17-$21/hr

Location: Avon, Carbondale, Seattle

Cripple Creek Backcountry is more than just a traditional retail store and this is more than just a sales associate job. We have a strong focus on community, offering events in avalanche education, amazing customer experience and being a resource for all members of the ski touring and outdoor world. We guarantee you will never be bored as we are setting the trend for what is the fastest growing segment of the winter sports world in one of its fastest growing companies.

We are looking for aspiring ski touring or splitboarding experts at each of our locations. Our ski touring and splitboarding experts are responsible for all areas of customer service from in-person retail to online sales and knowledge. An intense desire to learn and an affinity toward gear nerding a must. No previous retail experience is necessary, just an excitement for equipping new skiers and snowboards with the right gear for their new life changing experience.

Ski and Splitboard Shop Technician - $17-$21/hr

Location: Avon, Carbondale, Seattle

We are looking motivated, detail oriented, and mechanically inclined individuals to join our shop tech team at multiple locations. Ideally candidates will come with experience on the mounting bench, but we are happy to consider those with no experience so long as you are eager to learn!

Videographer

Location: Carbondale, Avon, Aspen Highlands

We have long placed an emphasis on content marketing for the story telling necessary to grow Cripple Creek Backcountry and the sports of ski touring and splitboarding. Through both our blog at cripplecreekbc.com and through Wildsnow.com we have used the written word to educate and inspire new mountain lovers. Our podcast Totally Deep gave us an excellent voice for our business and allowed people to see the personality behind our ecommerce presence. Now we are looking to add video to complete our multimedia package.

The CCBC videographer position is focused on shooting and editing short video footage with a strong focus on education and knowledge needed to safely approach the sport. We focus on getting down and dirty to get the job done, so art level production is not required. This is a part time position that could be supplemented with full time work in any of our other positions. Like most parts of CCBC, we expect this to quickly grow as we work to merge retail with media in a new and exciting business model.

Essential Job Functions
  • Working a collaborative team to plan and create the video product
  • Figuring out what type of equipment to use
  • Setting up and tearing down cameras, audio recorders, lighting, microphones, and props
  • Calibrating and maintaining equipment
  • Preparing “B” rolls as well as live feed for events
  • Interviewing people and creating a film clip via editing raw footage
  • Editing film
  • Inserting closed captioning, graphics, or other on-screen text into a video

  • Organization to manage time efficiently
  • Ability to capture snippets of film and be able to edit it into a cohesive story
  • Technical acumen to be able to operate, configure, set up, and fix video, audio, lighting, or other production equipment

  • Understanding of post-production techniques
  • Ability to work in a variety of digital venues with software to edit and finish film work
