Splitboard bindings are to be used in conjunction with a binding / board interface, namely Voile or Spark R&D Pucks, or the Karakoram system, which is specific to Karakoram bindings.
Splitboard bindings are a lot like regular snowboard bindings in form and function when it comes to descending. They key difference is (you guessed it!) that splitboard bindings allow you to walk uphill utilizing a unique pin interface between the binding toe and touring brackets that are fastened to the threaded splitboard inserts. Modern binding designs allow for quick and fluid transitioning between walk and ride mode. Spark R&D and Karakoram are two splitboard binding manufacturers that set the bar high for well-made, functional and durable splitboard bindings.
These bindings can be used with regular snowboard boots, as there is not a specific boot required to use with these systems.
