Voile STS Tour Binding
With the rise of hardboots comes lightweight options and the Voile STS Touring Binding is here to fit the bill. Over time splitboarding has evolved tremendously over the years. From Dynafit toes and simplistic base plates for hardbooting to integrate systems from creators like Spark and Phantom, the industry has seen a surge of interest in the new category of backcountry.
While light-is-right has been a motto for ski touring, splitboarding was falling behind, until these fellow companies started the R and D into finding a light yet durable solution for splitboarding. The STS using the simplest designs without discrediting the plain fact that we all want trusted product deep in the woods or on-top of a 14er.
The STS uses a side entry gate int he toe piece to utilize the fact that there is not need to add weight and features when it is not necessary. As an added bonus the STS will come standard with heels and toes, all you are missing is the binding for the ride.
Made in the USA.
These things work but i wouldnt buy again. I'd prefer normal, tech style toe pieces. The lever/latch that locks your foot in cams against the board and is not very stiff due to the three hole mounting. A normal toe piece doesnt preload its mounting features or anything just by virtue of being 'locked'. Kudos for voile for trying something different w these toe pieces, keeping them simple. Unfortunately they arent executed very well and youd be better served buying traditional style tech toes (3 hole or 4hole w/ adapter)
