The Giro Spur MIPS is a kids' snow helmet built for young skiers and riders logging their first full seasons on the mountain, pairing MIPS rotational-impact protection with a shell light enough for growing riders to wear all day.
In-mold construction fuses a polycarbonate outer shell to the EPS foam liner in a single piece, keeping weight down without cutting into impact protection. Giro's MIPS Brain Protection System sits between the liner and the head on a low-friction layer that lets the helmet shift slightly on an angled impact to redirect rotational force away from the brain. The In Form fit system uses a rear dial adjustable up to 6 cm, plus a separate vertical-tuning dial that tilts the helmet fore and aft to close the goggle gap, both operable with gloves on. Super Cool vents pull in fresh air and push out heat on the climb up, and a routed strap channel keeps goggle straps from bunching under the shell. The Spur MIPS is certified to CE EN1077 and sized for kids from extra-small through medium.
The Spur MIPS gives young riders the same MIPS technology found in Giro's adult snow helmets, scaled down to a kids' fit for a first helmet or a replacement for one a kid has outgrown.
