Voile
Voile might sound like a french brand but they are actually based in the Wasatch Mountains in Utah. They started developing backcountry skiing and telemark gear in the 1980s with a focus on keeping their gear lightweight, durable, and handmade right here in the USA.
Speed up a bit to 1991 and Voile brought us the first splitboard. The idea came from local Avalanche forecaster Brett “Kowboy” Kobernik. He saw a need for a tool for snowboarders to navigate the mountains while he was out taking observations.
Nowadays they continue to push the envelope with their highly acclaimed Hyper, Super, and Ultra series for skis and splitboards. The quality and performance of Voile's gear are second to none while still keeping their prices lower than most.
