Shop Voilé
Voilé might sound like a french brand but they are actually based in the Wasatch Mountains in Utah. They started developing backcountry skiing and telemark gear in the 1980s with a focus on keeping their gear lightweight, durable, and handmade right here in the USA.
Speed up a bit to 1991 and Voilé brought us the first splitboard. The idea came from local Avalanche forecaster Brett “Kowboy” Kobernik. He saw a need for a tool for snowboarders to navigate the mountains while he was out taking observations.
Nowadays they continue to push the envelope with their highly acclaimed Hyper, Super, and Ultra series for skis and splitboards. The quality and performance of Voile's gear are second to none while still keeping their prices lower than most.

The Charger Ace ski is a powerhouse in a lightweight package, delivering the punch of a heavyweight ski, at only seven pounds. Designed with Voile’s top downhill performance, unmatched mounting strength, and a durable, functional notched tail protector, it’s built to excel in challenging conditions.
Positioned between the HyperCharger and SuperCharger in weight, the Charger Ace offers the smoothest ride of all three without added bulk. Featuring a continuous sidewall, this ski enhances edge control and provides a touch of stiffness for dynamic turns. The tapered sidewall, combined with a partial cap layup, minimizes swing weight for effortless maneuverability—the hallmark of the Charger series.
With its robust maple mounting patch, the Charger Ace is primed to pair with the lightest tech bindings and the most demanding telemark setups, ready to conquer any terrain with agility and power.
The Voile UltraVector BC touring ski is born for those not-so-perfect conditions, making it the best ski for epic backcountry trips. It can glide and turn through the trees and its softened flex and deeper sidecut will give you the edge hold you need when you need it. Slim dimensions keep it lightweight and let you tear those turns in the most challenging spaces and the traction bases minimize the need for skins in rolling terrain.
The early rise tip and wide shovel float in powder and the underfoot camber provides stability as well as grip on the uphill. The poplar core is damp and durable and the carbon weave gives a confident, capable performance across conditions.
At a feather-light 6lbs per pair and (reminiscent of the Vector's roots) the UltraVector BC features a Traction Pattern Base. So you, intrepid backcountry skier, can explore farther off the beaten path than ever—especially when a lengthy trek across rolling hills beckons.
