The Ortovox Haute Route 40 is the large-volume version of the unisex Haute Route ski touring backpack, aimed at hut trips and heavily loaded days rather than fast laps. Cordura® and PFC-free double-layered 420D Oxford polyamide with a PU coating make it resistant to scuffing and water. The O-Flex-2 back system uses an S-shaped stabilizer and load control cords to shift weight onto the hips, and the hip fins connect inside the frame so they wrap without pressure points. The main compartment opens from both the top and the back, and a separate safety compartment gives fast access to a shovel and probe. The full back-panel zip opens the bag flat instead of everything coming out the top, and a rope attachment on the lid loads without opening the pack.
