Why We Like It

  • The Speed toe has ATK's Snowpack Proof System, which keeps snow and ice from packing under the toe lock on cold, repeated transitions.
  • The Cam Release System guides the heel pins along a cam profile, which softens step-in and gives a precise vertical release.
  • The Elastic Response System lets the heel follow the ski as it flexes, so release stays consistent through hard turns.
  • The AP brake locks with a press of the pedal and a turn of the heel, and the toe takes a removable crampon slot.

Best Uses

  • First touring setups
  • Resort uphill laps
  • Everyday backcountry touring
  • Skiers moving into pin bindings
  • Touring skis from 76 to 102 mm underfoot

Mounting and Setup Advice

Choose the brake equal to or up to 15 mm wider than the ski waist: 86, 91, 97 or 102 mm. A shop should set and test release for your weight, height, age, boot sole length and skier type after mounting.

ATK requires tech inserts at the toe and heel in good condition and a boot model on its compatibility list for this binding, plus two checks at mounting: in climbing mode the boot must pivot at least 80 degrees on the toe pins before touching the toe piece, and tilted forward it must rest on the toe jaws, not the front lever. The binding needs a boot with certified tech inserts. Bring your boots in so we can check the inserts and set up the binding.
