Tech Specs
Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD W 115 BOA Alpine Touring Boot
The Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD W 115 BOA Alpine Touring Boot is built for women who refuse to give up alpine-boot power when the skin track starts. A 98mm last suits low-volume feet, and full True Flex polyurethane, a damp plastic borrowed from alpine boots, holds the 115 flex under freeride skis 95 to 110mm underfoot. At 1,590 g per boot (size 26.5), with 54 degrees of cuff rotation and a BOA forefoot dial in place of a lower buckle, the Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD W 115 BOA covers resort days and sidecountry tours.

Why We Like It
- The full True Flex polyurethane shell and cuff give the Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD W 115 BOA a damp, progressive 115 flex, the stiffest in the women's Ultra XTD line, that skis close to a resort boot.
- The BOA Fit System on the lower shell wraps the forefoot evenly, removing the pressure points that two lower buckles can create and letting skiers fine-tune the fit on the fly.
- The Free/Lock 4.5 walk mechanism with the Frictionless Pivot delivers 54 degrees of cuff rotation, a usable stride for a boot built primarily to ski hard.
- The full-rubber GripWalk sole and tech fittings give a wide binding range, from pin-tech touring bindings to GripWalk and MNC alpine bindings.
Best Uses
- 50/50 resort and backcountry days on one boot
- Freeride touring on skis 95 to 110mm underfoot
- Lift-served slackcountry and short skin-track laps
- Aggressive downhill skiing where flex and damping matter
- Women with low-volume, narrow feet and ankles
Bootfitter's Advice
The Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD W 115 BOA fits as a low-volume boot on a 98mm last, narrow through the forefoot with a low instep, and its heel pocket is the defining trait: we find it among the snuggest in women's touring boots. The toe box is low and close but does not crowd the toes. After fitting hundreds of women tourers we find it best for narrow, low-volume feet with a slim heel. Wide forefeet and high insteps will want fit work before this boot feels comfortable.
The Memory Fit shell, which is built to be oven-formed to the foot, and Mimic liner both accept heat molding, and the polyurethane shell punches and stretches more readily than a thin Grilamid nylon touring shell, so we can open room at the sixth-toe, navicular, and instep. The BOA dial spreads closure pressure across the forefoot, which helps skiers who get pinch points from conventional lower buckles. Expect the inside ankle bones to be the first pressure point; a Memory Fit shell mold usually clears them, and the same mold plus the BOA wrap brings some wider forefeet into the boot without a punch. Plan on a shell fit rather than converting from street-shoe size, since length runs close to true Mondo.

Compare the Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD W 115 BOA
Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD W 115 BOA vs. Atomic Backland XTD Carbon 115 W
The Backland XTD Carbon 115 W is a lighter, better-walking dedicated touring boot that weighs 290 g less per boot and walks with a longer 74-degree stride, while the Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD W 115 BOA skis with much more damping and power thanks to its full polyurethane shell. Choose the Hawx to ski hard inbounds and out, the Backland XTD W for dedicated touring.
