Dynafit Blacklight Alpine Touring Boot
The Dynafit Blacklight Alpine Touring Boot is built for fit tourers who want race-like efficiency from a boot that fits a normal foot. A 101mm last fits the wide side of medium with a rectangular toe and a tall instep, and a carbon-loaded Grilamid nylon lower keeps the flex stiff for the weight, so a 90mm ski still gets driven. At 1,078 g per boot in a 27, with 60 degrees of cuff rotation and the Ultra Lock 5.0 lever that closes the cuff and walk mode together, the Dynafit Blacklight suits big vertical days and fast missions.

Why We Like It
- At 1,078 g per boot (size 27.0), the Dynafit Blacklight tours with the lightest speed boots while skiing firmer than most of them thanks to the full carbon cuff.
- The 60-degree range of motion and hyperflexible tongueless walk mode give a long, low-friction stride for skinning, bootpacking, and scrambling.
- The Twistfit instep dial wraps the midfoot evenly from the instep back toward the heel, taking up space over a taller instep without hot spots.
- The carbon-loaded Grilamid lower shell and full carbon cuff transfer power well for a boot in the 1-kilogram class.
Best Uses
- Ski mountaineering and technical objectives
- Long, high-vertical tour days
- Fast-and-light spring missions and traverses
- Touring skis 85 to 100mm underfoot
- Average to wide feet with a taller instep
Bootfitter's Advice
The Dynafit Blacklight Alpine Touring Boot fits on the wide side of medium on a 101mm last, with a roomy, rectangular forefoot and toe box, an above-average instep, and an average heel and ankle. The Dynafit Blacklight shares its shape with the TLT X, so skiers who fit that boot fit the Blacklight, and skiers who found narrow race lasts like the Scarpa F1 LT too tight usually find the Blacklight more comfortable.
The carbon-loaded Grilamid shell can be heat molded and punched a little for length or width, but not dramatically, so shell fit first and do not size up for comfort. The heel pocket is medium rather than a narrow locking pocket, so heel-lift-prone skiers may want a heel pad or a thicker aftermarket liner rather than a smaller shell; the thin stock Dynafitter 5 liner is the first thing many owners upgrade.

Compare the Dynafit Blacklight
Blacklight vs. Dynafit TLT X
The Dynafit Blacklight uses the same accommodating TLT X lower shell and Ultra Lock system, but adds a full carbon cuff that makes it a touch stiffer both fore-aft and laterally. The TLT X costs less and flexes a little softer, so skiers who want maximum value pick the TLT X, while those who want more power in the same fit pick the Blacklight.
Shop Dynafit TLT X bootsBlacklight vs. Scarpa F1 LT
Both are 1-kilogram-class speed boots that walk exceptionally well. The Scarpa F1 LT runs narrower and lower in volume with a BOA forefoot, while the Dynafit Blacklight fits wider and more rectangular with a Twistfit instep closure dial, so the choice comes down mostly to foot shape.

The Tecnica Zero G Peak Carbon skis with a more progressive, ski-boot-like carbon flex and a generous toe box on a 99 mm last, while the Dynafit Blacklight is lighter to move in, wider through the forefoot, and quicker to transition with its single Ultra Lock lever.
