We love the Atomic Backland 115 for deep days inbounds and in the backcountry. This is a skiers a recommended mount point further back than the Bent Chetlers. This means you can rail turns harder and it doesn't feel like a noodle.

    Tech Specs

The Backland 117 from Atomic is the big daddy of the Backland series. This freeride powder slayer will slash through pillows with its powder-rockered shape (20/70/10) and break all the trails with its HRZN tip technology. This is a purpose-built ski that incorporates all the tech you love in the Backland series while allowing you to float on those blower days.

Tipping in at 1880g at the 184cm length, you better make sure that you have enough boot to push these skis. If paired properly, the 19m turn radius will allow you to blast by your friends and enjoy every lap that much more. The Carbon Backbone and Dura Cap construction gives you stability at high speeds while still being very responsive. Also, be sure to check out the new murdered out top sheet for this year.

When it dumps, go for the Backland 117.

      Pow Dreams

This ski rocks!!! Obviously in a 117, you expect high performance in pow, but I was not expecting it to handle firmer conditions when exiting a pow run at the resort. The ski turns on a dime and frankly - the steeper the terrain, the better this ski gets. It's so nimble for a 117 and really blew my socks off skiing steep powdery bumps!
