Why We Like It
- At 1,094 g per boot (size 25), the F1 W balances real downhill support with lightweight touring in a women's-specific build.
- A lower cuff and a liner shaped for a lower, wider calf improve fit and comfort for many women compared with the men's F1.
- The 102 mm last and carbon-infused nylon shell fit a range of feet and can be punched by a skilled fitter.
- The hinged Evo tongue gives a smoother, more progressive flex than the tongueless F1 LT.
- A BOA forefoot dial secures the lower shell, and the cuff buckle plus Velcro strap lock the ankle for the descent.
- The Intuition Pro Flex Evo women's liner is heat-moldable and warmer than the thin race-style liners in the Alien and F1 LT.
Best Uses
- Day-to-day backcountry touring
- Ski mountaineering and spring missions
- Touring skis 88 to 105 mm underfoot
- Women with average-volume feet
- Tourers who want warmth and a progressive flex at moderate weight
Bootfitter's Advice
The Scarpa F1 W fits as a medium-volume boot on a 102 mm last with a women's-specific cuff that sits lower and a liner shaped for a lower calf muscle. We find it fits narrower overall than the men's F1 with a thicker liner, so we size close to true Mondo and confirm with a shell fit; Scarpa shares a shell between each full size and the half size above.
The carbon-infused nylon shell accepts moderate heat molding and punching, so sixth-toe and bunion areas can be opened up. Heat molding the liner adds toe room, so we start snug. Women with wider calves who found other boots tight at the cuff usually appreciate the lower, scalloped F1 W cuff.

Compare the Scarpa F1 W
F1 W vs. Scarpa F1 LT W
The F1 LT W saves over 150 g per boot, walks with a 72-degree range of motion and skis a stiffer, wall-like flex on a narrow 100 mm carbon lower that does not punch. The F1 W is heavier at 1,094 g, fits a wider 102 mm last with a warmer liner, punches, and skis a more progressive tongued flex.

The women's F1 shares the men's 102 mm lower shell and fit through the foot, so mondo-for-mondo they match. The F1 W differs with a lower cuff and a liner shaped for a lower calf, which many women find more comfortable than the taller men's cuff.
