For those of you that remember the original Drifter, it's shape is perfect for surfing endless powder fields and has even inspired some of Voile's best selling skis including the V8 and Vector. Now, Voile is paying homage to one of its most classic skis with this addition to the lightweight and powerful Hyper Series.

The Hyper Drifter is every backcountry skiers dream on a deep powder day. Boasting a huge shovel and a stout waist width of 121mm, a long running effective edge and trademarked early-rise/camber profile The Hyper Drifter has the perfect shape to float during those soft mid-winter turns. For the guts of these pow sticks Voile used a Paulownia construction to keep the weight down. Weighing in at only 1500g (178mm) you'll be lapping the skin track over and over again. Great ski! I also have a pair of Hyper Vectors which I love. But these Hyper Drifters are a lot of fun in the powder. At first I was a little worried about the turn radius, but these turn on a dime if you want them to. They are pretty stable in NorCal chowder too. The only obvious thing is they don't edge well on hard surfaces, but I went into this purchase knowing, and expecting, that.
