Tech Specs
Weighing only 200 grams, the ATK Kuluar 9 Alpine Touring Binding offers impressive performance in a compact package without skimping on the features necessary for a smooth experience. The Kuluar 9 has an adjustable lateral release value ranging from 4 to 9. The vertical release is fixed and managed by the minimalistic “U” spring: this component, inherited from ATK®’s racing models, is set in this configuration for medium to light-weight users. The heel piece is characterized by futuristic shapes offering an amazing look with an unmatched weight/reliability ratio! The toe piece is inspired by the simplicity of our “Crest” collection and creates a perfect combination of lightness/reliability. With the easy entry step-in, you can quickly lock in and climb without fumbling around. Four walk modes with one heel riser (crazy, right?) allow you to adjust to varying pitches of your ascent, and if you want to be speedy quick in your transitions, simply cover your pins with the first level and be off and away.
With 10mm of elastic heel travel working to absorb the impact of harder ski jumps/concussions with the natural flex of your skis, you can stay in your flow state and trust this binding to be secure through the rougher conditions. 20mm of heel adjustment gives you a decent range for different boots in your quiver if you want to stay light and fast or transition to more of a bigger day boot. Crampon compatible for epic spring days or steep, icy mountaineering objectives, these bindings are also compatible with a range of brake widths to fit most mountaineering/ all-mountain waisted skis. And if you want to stay crazy light and show off your skills, you can opt for the brakeless leash. Say hello to the Kuluar, everything you need and nothing that you don’t.
