Description
Black Diamond's top of the line trail running traction device, The Distance Spike, is designed to excel in fast mountain travel. An industry-first design, the Distance spike features a hybrid upper combining a softshell toe cover with a heel retention elastomer.
The softshell offers an incredible fit and snow protection while still keeping the device ultra packable. The toe cover helps keeps the Distance ultralight at only 115 grams per device. The Distance Spike has 14 spikes, optimized at an 8mm length, giving you incredible traction on snow and ice while still retaining stability on rocks. Made from heated treated stainless steal, the spikes are extremely durable and corrosion resistant.
Heading out to bag an alpine peak or to push long days on mixed terrain, the Distance Spike is a no brainer.

These are awesome! I've only put around 50 miles on them so far but they are exceptional for hard pack snow/ice (basically, roads around my house) and really easy to get off and on. Plus they're about half the weight of other options I've seen from yaktrax & others. I'm a size 11-11.5 running shoe and the L worked well for me.
