Description

The Black Diamond Helio Carbon 95 Alpine Touring Ski might be the most versatile ski in the Helio Carbon lineup: light enough to manage large days in the mountains, but enough surface area and mass to handle challenging snow conditions. Black Diamond even agrees in suggesting the optimal use to be 50% soft snow, 50% hard snow. Pretty much if there is snow on the ground, the Helio Carbon 95 is up for the challenge.

The Helio Carbon Series begins with an engineered paulownia wood core layered with a bidirectional carbon fiber/fiberglass laminate. This combo of bidirectional composite weave and paulownia wood creates a lightweight, energetic touring ski foundation. The ski is made with a full perimeter ABS sidewall to greatly enhance dampening [when in inevitable 'variable' snow], and also improve on overall ski durability. The Helio Carbon's are finished with a round tip and ABS bumpered tail to accommodate traditional skin attachment mechanisms.

The Helio Carbon 95 has a modern 15/75/10 profile. A semi-spoon 15% rockered tip, a 75% camber mid ski, and a 10% semi-rockered tail. This is a contemporary ski design that allows the rider to surf softer snow, easily initiating and 'slashing' turns due to the tip and tail rise of the ski. But once encountered with harder snow conditions, the Helio Carbon 95 can still hold an adequate edge, with the full ABS sidewall coming into play to dampening the otherwise rough ride. These skis will surf pow and handle technical terrain all the same. So can we say that the Helio Carbon 95 is a jack-of-all-trades? Yes we can. It's a do-it-all, modern-shaped Jack of Carbon. So go all-in on the Helio Carbon 95.
