The backcountry weapon of the future. The DPS Cassiar 95 is a touring ski with mostly traditional geometry, but with a new age carbon laminate allowing it to go where no ski has gone before.
The Tour1 construction allows for significant weight savings from the Pure3 construction, but maintains its torsional stiffness that we have come to love from DPS. DPS swaps out the heavier aspen core, full carbon wrap, and sidewalls found in the Pure 3 for a lighter layup. Lightweight and poppy Balsa is layered with the aerospace carbon fiber laminate, and then wrapped in a capped construction. DPS still includes it's Rockwell edges, super hard world cup bases, and ultra durable top sheet. The textured top sheet also sheds snow nicely on the uphill- less surface tension for sticky spring snow. We aren't sure exactly how they did it, but these featherweights really rip.
The Cassiar 95's 18 meter sidecut, with its 95 mm waist give it an all-around versatility from hard pack to powder days. With just a little bit of rocker, the 95 makes the ski quicker edge to edge, keeps you on top of the fresh snow, yet doesn't compromise the edge hold.
This is an awesome option if you're purely in the backcountry and you want to move fast- both up and down.
