The Skorpius from La Sportiva is an uphill oriented boot for general ski touring or the occasional randonee race. Weighing in at an even 1000 grams (size 27), and boasting an exceptional 68 degrees of cuff articulation, this boot will have the vertical feet melting away on the uphill. It is designed after the popular women's Solar boot, but with a reinforced carbon cuff for added stiffness. The shell is made from carbon reinforced Grilamid which not only boasts an impressive strength to weight ratio, but keeps its progressive flex even in cold temperatures. Forward lean is adjustable to three positions to further dial in the ski performance, and the Swing Lock Closure System makes transitions simple and efficient. Sportiva included their Skorpius CR Liner which is comparable to the Pro Flex Evo from Intuition. All in all, the Skorpius is another addition to the lightweight and versatile 'ski-mountaineering' quiver that has seen so much growth in recent years.
