I've been skiing on the Scarpa Freedom using a tech pin setup for 3 years. Recently I wanted a comfortable boot for patrolling in, where I use a DIN binding, so I bought the DIN soles. They work great, pass the safety test. Only slight negative is that they accumulate a lot of snow under the toe when out of the binding and need extra work to clean off the snow when clicking in. It's a great pity that Scarpa discontinued Freedom boot models!
They work fine. They are a bit cumbersome to take on and off, but worth it to have one pair of boots for two applications. The technology is a bit antiquated compared to boots and bindings available for both touring and DIN compatibility nowadays. Scarpa discontinued the Freedom boots a while back.
