SCOTT Cosmos III Alpine Touring Boot

Scott created the Cosmos III with the idea that you don't have to sacrifice weight for stiffness. With Powerfit technology you can find even ground between mobility and comfort on the skin up and solid support for any decent, aggressive or leisure. The Cosmos III delivers a High performance fit for a top of the line AT boot, allowing you to feel secure in any conditions you may adventure into.

The Cosmos III is built with a Grilamid plastic for a stiff and durable body that won't break down and can retain any torture the average skier puts their boots through. As well as the Grilamid the Cosmos III uses a Bi-material tongue for proofing and mobility, and a Full length Vibram sole that offers better grip when hiking around or boot packing.

The Rear hook walking mechanism is designed to give piece of mind and ease of use when transitioning from skiing to walking. The Hook system gives the Cosmos III a 60 degree range of motion in hike mode, but when locked maintains a 115 flex. The hook system is great when battling harsh conditions and when freezing may be a factor. Nothing is worse than hiking for a couple hours, getting ready to head down a beautiful run, and your walk mech freezing up on you and turns your boot into a noodle factory.

Is renting right for you?

Rentals are a great way to lower the cost for your first time trying the sport and narrowing down what you are looking for. We rent both super light fitness setups for resort uphilling as well as all mountain skis better for backcountry and soft snow.

There are a few limitations of renting. Most importantly the demands on your feet for walking uphill in a hard plastic require a level of boot fitting and customization that is impossible to get in rental boot. This could set you up for some discomfort. There are too many models of skis out there to try them all, so demoing to buy has become impossible. In the end, once you are hooked for the sport, working with our backcountry experts will be the most efficient and least expensive way to get dialed in the perfect setup for you.
