Why We Like the Scott Cosmos Pro Alpine Touring Boot

The brand new Scott Cosmos Pro Alpine Touring boot is an exciting new concept that blends many modern boot technologies into a single boot. Known for high-volume boots, Scott went back to the drawing board this season by creating a medium-last, high-performance boot that is completely different than anything else in the category.

Not quite a 2-piece boot or a 3-piece boot, Scott's is calling the design "Cabrio Hybrid construction". Essentially the Cosmos Pro has 3 separate pieces to the shell and played with new concepts of buckle type and placement. The result is a lightweight boot that still crushes the downhill with a 125 flex rating, and an average volume of 101.5mm last that is in a great spot to accommodate both wide and narrow feet. Is this the people's touring boot? Signs point to yes. 60 degrees range of motion enables a fantastic stride and gives you all-day comfort as you're not walking "against" the boot while you're in tour mode.

Lest we forget, let's talk about this liner that looks different than anything out there.  Scott takes the Boa and throws it INTO the boot liner, creating a custom fit and foothold that's going to make everyone jealous on the skin track. The liner is also heat moldable, so if the out-of-the-box fit isn't quite perfect, it's easy to get there with one run through the oven. After a long day of walking in the woods, simply tighten a few clicks if you're starting to feel the liner loosen up. This is a huge game changer as most other comparable boots in the 120-130 flex range are cutting weight with thin liners that leave a lot to be desired.

With the Cosmos family now complete with this new benchmark standing at the lead, the Cosmos Pro Alpine Touring Boot is a high-performing alpine touring boot ready to stoke your fire for all of your human-powered missions. But if you want to just lap the resort with your bros, go for it; these will look so good on you.
