The Scott Couloir helmet is certified to protect you while climbing and skiing, also known as ski mountaineering. In addition, the Couloir Mountain Helmet checks the three things we look for in a helmet. Using a thinner, lower profile Casidion® material improves safety and reduces needless "martian head" and "gaper-gaps" this soft pro lid looks nice on your noggin. The lighter, thinner temperature-resistant Casidion® nanotechnology reduces spine injuries (from the helmet) and absorbs and diverts 40% of the impact energy away from your head.

Additional features like passive venting, quick dial adjustment, secure headlamp clips, and dual Coolmax padding configuration provide comfort in frigid to sweltering temperatures. They round out this big mountain brain bucket. If your next objective looks like a "two helmet" day, one Scott Couloir Mountain Helmet has you covered!

    Good overall lightweight backcountry/Couloir helmet

Good helmet for backcountry skiing. I haven't used it for Couloir climbing but i'm sure it will work great. The only complaint would be that the winter liner is clearly done cheaply and could be done alot better. Overall even though the liner isn't the best it still gets the job done well and is easy to take off and on in a hurry. Good helmet overall though.

Just what I was looking for.

Light and well-fitting helmet. Used it on a yurt/skimo trip. The liner is pretty weird and I will probably never use it, but my hat fit easily under the helmet and the boa system makes it easy to adjust.

    What Helmet?

I haven't worn a helmet in years because it was hard to find one that fit all of my needs, Enter the SCOTT Couloir helmet! Certified for climbing and descending. Am I even wearing this super light, low profile helmet? It's so light I forgot I had it on while driving already. Love, love, love a helmet that finally has headlamp clips. This thing is the sh..!

The helmet I wish I had invented.

This product fills a big gap in the market for backcountry skiers. Light, comfortable and versatile but more substantial than your standard rock hat. Perfect.
