    The Backland FR 102 is the ultimate freeride touring ski for those who need a hard-charging downhill ski. It represents a significant evolution from the Backland 100, featuring an all-new construction that minimizes environmental impact by reducing the amount of fiberglass, metal, and resin and replacing it with Coruba and Poplar.

    The Backland 102 FR is designed to use different wood thicknesses in the core to get a unique and refined flex pattern. This also creates a lighter, more responsive ride that saves your legs on the uphill. Atomic increased the amount of rocker, now at 35% compared to the previous 30%. This enhances maneuverability and float, making turning in deep snow and tight terrain much easier.

    The HRZN 3D Backland tip reduces swing weight and improves turn initiation, while the Dura Cap Sidewall boosts durability and edge hold, providing reliable performance in firm and steep conditions as well as powder. With more wood and less fiberglass, metal, and resin, the Backland FR 102 delivers a damp, stable feel while significantly reducing its carbon footprint. Weighing 1430 grams per ski in a 179, these skis perfectly balance lightness with everyday capability, making them the ideal choice for day-in and day-out skiing.
