Tech Specs
Capability is an understatement for the Atomic Backland 107. With unlimited versatility and high performance at a low weight, it's in a category of its own. The Backland 107 is a ski that despite its' light touring construction, could be mounted with an alpine binding and skied frontside at the resort. Powder, chunder, breakable crust, ice, groomers- you name it and the Backland 107 handles it.

At 1550 grams, the Backland 107 is positioned to handle long uphill slogs and steep aggressive skiing on the downhill. Advanced construction is everything, and Atomic's design beautifully combines an Ultra Power Woodcore with a Carbon backbone. The Backland 107 skis deep snow with strength and mobility due to its Powder Rocker and HRZN Tech. Originally designed for even bigger skis, the HRZN tips have proven useful in the entire backland line. With this unique technology, Atomic skis have more surface area on the tips therefor plane easier. Even in mixed condition days, its 18.5m turn radius is well suited for small and large radius turns alike at any speed.

Overall, the Backland 107 is a beautifully packaged touring ski that pays homage to both new school and old school design. Intermediates and experts alike find both value and performance in this backcountry skiing sport utility vehicle.

Sidecountry 4 star

A good ski, likes a longer line. Would be equally as good with an alpine binding.

My favorite touring ski ever

There are a bunch of good skis out there, but the Backland 107 is so good I bought a 2nd pair to mount whenever my current ones die (hopefully years down the road). For a ski that is 107mm underfoot, I'm blown away at the weight to skiability ratio. Skis at this weight shouldn't perform at this level, and yet- the Backland 107s do! Thanks again for the amazing recommendation Cripple Creek! Love the new graphic too! Racecar red is HOT!
