The Black Diamond Ski Skin Tail Kit rebuilds the tail attachment on a pair of climbing skins, which is usually the first part of a skin to fail. The tail carries the tension that holds the skin flat against the base, and it takes a hard pull at every rip, so an elastic strap and hook eventually give up long before the plush wears out. Fitting a fresh tail kit restores that tension and buys another season or two out of skins that are otherwise fine. It also converts a trim-to-length skin that never had a tail attachment. Unisex.
