Cervelo Aspero Apex 1

The Cervelo Aspero Apex 1 is the entry point into Cervelo's gravel race platform, and it gets the same carbon frame and all-carbon Aspero fork as the more expensive builds in the line. What separates the Aspero from a general-purpose gravel bike is the fork's TrailMixer dropouts, offset inserts that let you shift the front axle 5 mm forward or back. Forward sharpens the steering for technical, race-pace riding; backward slows it down for long, flat, fast surfaces. It is a real adjustment, not a marketing feature, and it is worth setting deliberately once you know what tire you are running.

The build is deliberately simple. SRAM's Apex group runs 1x with hydraulic disc brakes, which means fewer things to adjust and a clutch derailleur that holds the chain on washboard. Alexrims wheels are tubeless ready, so the first upgrade most riders make costs nothing but sealant and valves. Cervelo includes a top tube storage bag and a front accessory mount, which covers snacks and a computer without extra hardware.
