Why We Like the Dyanfit M Free Alpha Direct Jacket

The Dynafit Free Alpha Direct Jacket is the put-it-on-leave-it-on piece for cold days and challenging ascents. Alpha Direct technology, innovated from the original Alpha line designed for the Special Forces, allows you to wear the garment next to skin or with an additional layer as its internal mesh core gives you a fleecy-soft feel. Simplicity is key here. Its lightweight comes from 100% recycled materials with an open construction to allow breathability and shed excess body warmth. The PFC-free DWR repellant offers light rain/snow protection, and the additional woven fleece inserts along the side lend an additional measure of warmth. Elastic materials at the cuff, hood, and waist keep this jacket sitting where you need it. A chest pocket and two additional pockets give ample room for quickly accessible items. With its intuitive design maximizing freedom of movement, warmth, and breathability, this could be the buy of the season, and one you certainly won't regret.

    Dynafit Free Alpha Direct Jacket

This jacket was exactly what I was looking for. Versatile outer/mid-layer for high aerobic activity (backcountry skiing). Has breathability on the up and is windproof enough for the down. As a bald guy with head temperature regulation issues I really like the hood, not thick and heavy, just enough to cut the wind when it blows through my hat. During my first couple weeks I used this jacket as an outer layer in light rain, light snow, and breezy conditions. Many of those conditions were on the same day. I also used it as a mid-layer at the start of single-digit dawn patrols and later strip down to make it my outer layer as the sun warms things up.
Compared to other brands this sizes about a half size small in my estimation.
Great service from Cripple Creek Backcountry.
