Tecnica Mach1 MV 120 Alpine Boot
The Tecnica Mach1 MV 120 is an alpine boot for advanced and expert resort skiers with average-width feet who want power without a race fit. A 120 flex over a bi-injected polyurethane cuff with a back spine puts a long lever between the cuff and the shell, which is what makes this boot change edges quickly rather than just feel stiff. The 100 mm last is medium-volume at 1,835 g per boot in a 26.5, and the shell is new for this season with a reshaped instep, so anyone who tried an older Mach1 MV and found it tight over the top of the foot should try this one again.

Why We Like It

Bootfitter's Advice
After fitting a lot of Mach1 shells over the years, we treat the MV as the default Tecnica fit and the LV as the exception. Confirm size with a shell fit rather than a street-shoe conversion. Tecnica shells cover two mondo sizes, so a 26.0 and a 26.5 are the same shell at a 305 mm sole length, and the full chart is in the specifications above.
The instep on this generation is reshaped, so a skier who sized up on an older Mach1 MV to escape instep pressure should be re-measured rather than matched to their old size. Polyurethane takes punches and grinding readily. We keep heavy work off the back spine, since that is the structure carrying the flex.
