Why We Like It
- A narrow waist and a scale base is the most efficient combination Voile offers for covering distance, because there is less base area dragging and no transition to make on gentle ground.

Ski Specialist's Advice
The scale base is at its best on the low-angle ground that makes up the boring half of a big day, and it gives out well before a skin track does, especially on cold dry snow and refrozen crust. Length matters on a narrow ski: a 157 is 108-78-94 mm at 1,081 g per ski and a 184 is 119-86-104 mm at 1,465 g per ski, so the short end is a mountaineering tool and the long end glides better on the flats the scales are meant for.
Voile lists an unusually broad binding range for the Voile Endeavor BC, from nordic NNN BC and Xplore through three-pin, telemark and pin/tech. That breadth is about what the ski will hold, not about what will ski it: a nordic boot will not drive 82 mm on a firm descent, so match the binding to how you intend to ski down, not only to how you intend to travel. Size brakes to the waist at your length, 78 mm at 157 cm to 86 mm at 184 cm, and carry skins, either Voile's dedicated 85 mm Hyper Glide or a 120 mm stock cut down.
