Voile Vector Ace Touring Ski
Skiers who want the Vector's firm-snow grip with the vibration taken out of it are the reason Voile builds the Voile Vector Ace Touring Ski on a sidewall instead of a cap. A 127-94-111 mm shape at 171 cm and an 18.5 m radius at that length keep the long running length and low-taper tail the Vector is bought for, and a continuous TPU sidewall over a paulownia core damps the chatter a cap ski passes to the skier. At 1,408 g per ski in a 171 the Voile Vector Ace also carries a maple mounting patch, which is what lets one ski take a light pin binding or an aggressive telemark binding.

Why We Like It
- A continuous TPU sidewall, a tough polyurethane strip running the length of the edge, transmits edge pressure more directly than a cap and damps vibration on the way back, which is what firm snow asks for.

The Voile Vector Ace starts at 157 cm rather than the 154 the poplar Vector offers, and the shape moves with the size as usual: a 157 is 119-90-105 mm on a 16.5 m radius at 1,136 g per ski, and a 184 is 133-98-116 mm on a 20 m radius at 1,542 g per ski. The weight advantage over the poplar Vector grows with length, so a skier on a 184 gains far more from the Ace build than a skier on a 164.
The maple mounting patch widens what this ski will hold: AT bindings including pin/tech, and telemark bindings up to the aggressive end. Installing quiver killers still voids the Voile factory warranty. Mount to the marked factory boot center, which Voile publishes as a chart for each length, and skip the reinforcing plate. Match binding to your boot sole norm, size brakes to the waist at your length from 90 mm at 157 cm to 98 mm at 184 cm, and run skins at a 120 mm stock width.
